Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Astana Hub innovation technopark, where Zhasslan Madiev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, presented key projects based on artificial intelligence technologies.
During the visit, the head of state emphasized the importance of continuing the digitalization of the economy and integrating AI into various sectors. The minister provided detailed information on the implementation of the AI development concept, highlighting three key areas: institutional environment, infrastructure, and human capital development.
In 2024, the Artificial Intelligence Committee was established, composed of members of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve. Additionally, a five-year AI Development Concept was approved, which covers strategies, challenges, and regional specifics of Kazakhstan, and also provides for the adoption of the "On Artificial Intelligence" law.
Among the achievements is the launch of a supercomputer cluster for the development of the KazLLM model and the creation of national AI infrastructure. This platform will enable the rapid creation of AI solutions for government agencies and businesses.
Special attention has been given to the creation of AI agents within the eGov system, which will automate routine processes and help citizens and government officials focus on strategic tasks.
To attract specialists to the AI field, it is planned to train 1 million people over five years. Programming and artificial intelligence programs will be expanded in schools, and educational programs based on IT universities will be organized for government officials and the corporate sector.
At the Astana Hub, AI startups are already actively supported through acceleration programs, including projects from Google and Draper University. These initiatives confirm Kazakhstan's status as a regional technological leader and strengthen the development of the Generative Nation concept.
