The Central Asian Innovation Hubs regional initiative, aimed at promoting Central Asian startup ecosystems in international markets, continues to expand. Tajikistan has officially joined the platform, becoming a new member of the regional innovation alliance.
The corresponding memorandum of cooperation was signed during the first C5+1 summit in Japan. The document solidified the partnership between key technological hubs in the region — IT Park Uzbekistan, Astana Hub, and IT Park Dushanbe — marking an important step in developing interstate cooperation in the field of technology and innovation.
Tajikistan's accession to the platform opens up new opportunities for local startups and IT companies. In particular, ecosystem participants will gain access to international acceleration and incubation programs, global technology exhibitions, as well as mentoring and infrastructure support for entering foreign markets.
The Central Asian Innovation Hubs platform was launched in 2024 at the initiative of IT Park Uzbekistan and Astana Hub. Its key goal is to create a unified innovation brand for Central Asia and strengthen the presence of regional startups on the global technology stage. The project focuses on coordinating efforts among regional countries, joint participation in international events, and establishing sustainable channels for entering markets in Europe, the Middle East, the US, and Asia.
During the initiative's operation, more than 100 startups from Central Asian countries have participated in major international technology events, including Web Summit Lisbon, TechCrunch Disrupt, GITEX Global, and other industry exhibitions and conferences. These appearances have allowed companies not only to present their products to a global audience but also to establish contacts with investors, corporations, and international partners.
Startup participation in events under the auspices of Central Asian Innovation Hubs has already yielded tangible results. For instance, Uzbek tech companies, after entering international platforms, attracted over $82 million in investments, confirming the effectiveness of the chosen model of regional cooperation.
As part of the platform's further development, joint programs for scaling startups, entering the markets of Kazakhstan, the UAE, and the US are planned, along with the creation of international innovation hubs and specialized acceleration tracks for projects from Central Asia.
The expansion of the alliance with Tajikistan underscores the growing interest of regional countries in cooperation in the field of technology and innovation. According to representatives of partner IT parks, uniting efforts will accelerate the development of startup ecosystems, enhance the region's investment attractiveness, and strengthen Central Asia's position on the global technology map.
