Yandex Kazakhstan launches the Center for Society Technologies

Yandex Qazaqstan announces the launch of the Center for Society Technologies — a new initiative aimed at supporting socially significant projects in Kazakhstan. The Center will bring together representatives of the Kazakhstani scientific and research community with the technologies and expertise of Yandex Cloud to solve important societal challenges more quickly and effectively.

The Center for Society Technologies supports projects in four areas: science and education, healthcare, ecology, and culture. Applications are accepted from scientific organizations, universities, research teams, students of technical disciplines, developers, and businesses. The Center provides projects with expert assistance, access to cloud technologies and machine learning tools from Yandex Cloud, as well as resources for promoting solutions.

The Center prioritizes projects that can improve the quality of life in Kazakhstan and have the potential for scaling. The Center's team has experience and expertise in implementing similar projects. Among them is a project on snow leopard recognition using neural networks, which simplifies the work of scientists and enables the development of more effective measures to protect the population, as well as a technology for monitoring harmful emissions into the atmosphere, which helps industrial enterprises control the release of technical gases and respond more quickly to accidents and leaks. In the field of healthcare, there is a neural network for detecting the rare condition spina bifida in early pregnancy.
