The problems for Yandex Cup are created by Yandex employees based on the challenges they face in their daily work. The championship is designed for developers of all levels, from students to experienced professionals. Participants can try their hand at multiple tracks and then select one for the semi-finals.

In 2023, the championship will take place in three stages. The qualification and semi-finals will be held online. The 120 participants from all countries who achieve the best results in the semi-finals will gather in Kazakhstan for the offline final and award ceremony. This format will allow participants not only to test their skills but also to meet other developers from different countries. Yandex will broadcast the final for all interested viewers.

Applications can be submitted on the website until October 29, inclusive. The qualification stage will run from October 23 to October 29, the semi-final will be held on November 4, and the final and award ceremony for the top participants will take place on December 2–3. Developers who achieve the highest results in each track will be able to interview with Yandex through a simplified process.
