In Karaganda, at the Makazhanov Multidisciplinary Hospital, Kazakhstan's first neurosurgical complex — the Remebot RM-200 robot — has been installed. This system is capable of performing brain surgeries with sub-millimeter precision.
The equipment was purchased using local budget funds and will soon be integrated into surgical operations.
Ermaganbet Bulekpaev, Akim of the Karaganda Region, emphasized that healthcare modernization and equipping hospitals with modern technology remain regional priorities. According to him, the new robotic complex will enable surgeons to perform the most complex operations with high precision and improve treatment efficiency for patients.
The Remebot RM-200 will be used for intracranial biopsies, tumor ablations, as well as stereotactic interventions for Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, and hematoma removal.
According to the medical team's forecasts, the robot will enable up to 300 high-tech neurosurgical procedures per year, reduce the invasiveness of interventions, and shorten hospital stays.
Local specialists have already undergone training in China, where the Remebot technology is already in use. As part of the preparation, trial surgeries were conducted with the participation of Kazakh doctors.
