Uzbekistan has launched Wallet in Telegram: 27 million users have received a built-in crypto wallet

The Wallet service has launched in Uzbekistan within Telegram — an international cryptocurrency wallet built directly into the messenger's interface. Starting December 9, 2025, over 27 million Uzbek Telegram users gained the ability to seamlessly buy and sell cryptocurrencies using local payment systems, without the need to install any additional applications.
Wallet supports Bitcoin, Toncoin, USDT, and over 200 popular tokens. All operations, including buying, sending, and receiving crypto assets, are as simple as sending a regular message. According to industry analysts, this format is particularly in demand in Uzbekistan, where Telegram is the primary communication channel and reaches 88% of the internet-active population.
The technological partner for the launch was Asterium, the country's largest crypto ecosystem. The service allows for secure management of digital assets and supports Humo, Visa, and Mastercard cards, ensuring fast transaction speeds, transparent pricing, and a high level of data protection.
Komilkhodzha Sultonov, CEO of Asterium
Asterium's mission is to make working with crypto assets simple and accessible for everyone. Wallet aligns with our approach: it is convenient, transparent, and secure.
The launch became possible after Wallet in Telegram received a license from the National Agency for Advanced Projects (NAPP). This guarantees strict standards for user identification, data protection, and the prevention of financial crimes. Regulatory transparency strengthens Uzbekistan's position as one of the most dynamic FinTech markets in the world.
Andrey Rogozov, founder and CEO of The Open Platform (TOP), the technology company developing Wallet, emphasized that Telegram's scale, the developed mobile ecosystem, and clear regulation make Uzbekistan an example of a rapid transition to modern financial technologies.
Today, Wallet has over 150 million registered users worldwide. The launch in Uzbekistan follows the service's release in the United States in July 2025 and will be part of its further international expansion — over the next two years, Wallet plans to enter 15 additional markets.
