Saudi company DataVolt plans to build a 12 MW data center in Uzbekistan on the territory of IT Park in Tashkent. The project, valued at $150 million, is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The center will become the first in Central Asia to utilize artificial intelligence technologies and will receive a LEED Gold certification, confirming compliance with international "green" standards.
The project holds strategic importance for Uzbekistan, as it will attract tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon to host their data. This will help strengthen the country's status as a regional data center hub and accelerate the development of the digital economy, the creation of new jobs, and the stimulation of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Looking ahead, DataVolt plans to invest an additional $3 billion in Uzbekistan and increase the total capacity of its data centers to 500 MW. The company is also working on connecting Uzbekistan to a fiber-optic communication line running along the bottom of the Caspian Sea from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan.
