In Terricon Valley, a HackTheBookShelf hackathon will take place for developers and IT students

This year, the N.V. Gogoly Karaganda Regional Universal Scientific Library will celebrate its 90th anniversary. To mark this occasion, developers are invited to participate in the HackTheBookShelf hackathon and create prototypes of digital solutions that will help modernize one of the region's oldest libraries and adapt it to the needs of the modern reader. The best projects will be awarded cash prizes.

The hackathon will last three days: from September 6 to 8. During this time, participants will need to develop their solutions based on one of two proposed cases: developing an online platform and developing a mobile application for the library. The prize fund of 1,000,000 tenge will be divided among the four best teams. Additionally, the hackathon partner — the N.V. Gogoly Karaganda Regional Universal Scientific Library — will select a team to receive the grand prize of 500,000 tenge.

The event is held in cooperation with the IT Hub "Terricon Valley" with the support of the Department of Informatization, Public Services, and Archives of the Karaganda Region and the Department of Culture, Archives, and Documentation of the Karaganda Region, underscoring the importance and significance of this event for the region. Participants will not only have the chance to compete for valuable prizes but also the opportunity to network with IT industry representatives, exchange ideas with like-minded individuals, and make a real contribution to the development of Karaganda's cultural space.

Developers of all levels, as well as students of IT specialties, are invited to participate.
