The Central Asian Internet Governance Forum will take place in Tashkent

On June 21–22, 2024, the capital of Uzbekistan will host discussions on key issues of digital development in the region at the eighth Central Asian Internet Governance Forum, CAIGF 2024. The event is organized by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, UNIVERSOFT IT, and the National Legal Corporation.

CAIGF 2024 will bring together representatives of governments and relevant ministries from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, as well as experts from international organizations, the non-governmental sector, digital business, technology companies, and leading specialists in digital development from Europe, China, and Canada.

The forum will provide a platform for dialogue on digital development, access to technology, and the utilization of the internet's potential in Central Asia. Participants will discuss current issues related to:

— digital infrastructure: how to fully leverage Central Asia's potential in the technology era

— security in the digital world: what strategies and initiatives are needed to counter growing cyber threats in the region

— regulation in the age of innovation: how to effectively and safely integrate technologies in Central Asia.

Expected participants include:

— representatives of ICANN, RIPE NCC, Internet Society, and the IGF secretariat

— leaders and representatives of international digital platforms and transnational companies, such as Yandex and TikTok

— international and regional experts in cybersecurity and digital resilience, representing Basalt, JSC Kaspersky Lab, Code Security, InfoWatch, and the Cyber Attack Analysis and Investigation Center.

CAIGF 2024 promises to be a key event in the field of digital development in Central Asia.
