The first World Humanoid Games took place in Beijing with the participation of more than 500 robots

The first "World Humanoid Games" took place in Beijing, bringing together over 500 robots. The machines competed in household and sports disciplines: from cleaning rooms and carrying suitcases to football and running distances.
The competitions clearly demonstrated the current level of industry development. Tasks that are simple for humans remain a challenge for robots: one participant took more than 17 minutes to throw away nine pieces of paper, while another took almost five minutes to carry three boxes of medicine. In VR-controlled competitions, robots also struggled—for example, one mechanized "athlete" tried to throw a piece of paper for over 12 minutes and still missed.
Despite this, China is actively investing in the development of humanoids and aims to become a global leader in this field by 2027. A bright example is the startup UniX AI, which presented an autonomous wheeled robot: it managed to clean a room in just 8 minutes and 21 seconds, winning the competition. Several hundred such machines are already working in hotels, with each costing around $12,000.
The sports disciplines were also spectacular: football, fights, and races. Robots often fell, lost their way, and shut down right on the track. Nevertheless, in the 1500-meter race, one of them reached the finish line in 6 minutes and 34.4 seconds—just three minutes slower than the human world record.
