With the support of Astana Hub, IT hubs Jaiq Hub and Kyzylorda Hub have been launched to foster innovation and train talent. The hubs organize the Idea Battle and Startup Talapker competitions, offer incubation programs, and collaborate with Digital Nomads (over 4,000 specialists). The goals include supporting youth startups and creating conditions for project development across the entire country.
To support IT startups and the development of innovative projects in the regions of the country, IT hubs have been launched: Jaiq Hub and Kyzylorda Hub, with the support of the international technology park Astana Hub.
Regional hubs are engaged in the development of innovative projects in their regions, as well as the preparation and training of personnel in the IT field. They also create local IT communities—associations of startups, investors, and mentors, to which all interested parties can join. During the development of startup projects, in the incubation period, entrepreneurship training is provided, assistance is given in attracting investments, maintaining financial accounting, and PR support.
Alina Abdrakhmanova, Managing Director of Astana Hub
The IT sector is one of the most promising and rapidly developing areas in the modern world. Therefore, we at Astana Hub have set ourselves the goal of opening regional hubs across the country this year. We are glad and grateful that ZKO and Kyzylorda were among the first to support this idea. Kazakhstani people have great potential, and it is necessary to create conditions throughout the republic so that young people can develop their projects regardless of where in our country or the world they are located.
As part of the partnership with Astana Hub, competitions among startup projects Idea Battle and Startup Talapker are held in regional IT hubs, incubation programs for startups at the idea and product creation stages are operating, and all educational and business programs of the technology park are being broadcast.
Zhanarys Tubekeyev, Representative of Kyzylorda Hub
Our regional hub is based on the business incubator of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and the Regional Center for Information Technologies. Our goal is to support local youth who wish to start their own business and develop startup projects but lack the opportunity. In the near future, we plan to organize a Smart City Hackathon, Pecha Kucha Night, and Innofest Kyzylorda in the region.
In addition, online training Startup School for beginner entrepreneurs, No Code courses for developing IT product development skills without using code, and Startup Academy, a program on technological entrepreneurship, are available in the regions. Various offline and online meetings, training, and seminars are also held, where successful IT entrepreneurs talk about the IT sector, sales, strategy, and marketing and share their experience.
It should be noted that regional IT hubs cooperate with Digital Nomads, which includes more than four thousand Kazakhstani citizens and talented specialists who have experience working in leading global companies and strive to contribute to the development of Kazakhstan's IT industry.
Digital Nomads is an association of Kazakhstani specialists from IT companies, founded by the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bagdat Musin.
