The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan has launched the new Alem.Cloud platform, designed for submitting applications to use resources of the national supercomputing cluster. The Alem.Cloud supercomputer is included in the TOP500 ranking of the world's most powerful systems, holding the 86th position, which confirms its status as the largest computing center in the region.
Supercomputer resources are now available to legal entities, including government agencies, scientific and educational institutions, startups, private companies, and Astana Hub residents. The Ministry has developed rules for allocating computing power, taking into account the strategic importance of projects and the tasks of national development in artificial intelligence.
Priorities for using the supercomputer include public administration, education and healthcare, agriculture and water supply, the oil and gas industry, the mining and metallurgical complex and energy sector, geology and exploration, transport and logistics, industry and construction, robotics and drones, cybersecurity and financial technologies.
To submit an application, users need to visit the platform alem-cloud.nitec.kz, select the required amount of resources — GPU, CPU, RAM, and SSD storage — specify the rental period, and describe the project. The platform includes a calculator that allows users to estimate costs and generate a configuration summary for the project. Each application is signed with the electronic digital signature of the legal entity.
The national supercomputer ensures stable and continuous operation of computing resources, 24/7 access to services, data protection through backups, and compliance with SLA, guaranteeing high availability and predictable performance. This enables companies and organizations to confidently plan and implement their projects.
The 86th place in the TOP500 ranking confirms that Kazakhstan possesses world-class scientific and technological infrastructure and has significant potential for developing its own AI models. Experts note that this opens up opportunities for conducting breakthrough research and organizing the export of digital services and technologies in the future.
