The unique SANA-1 project has launched at the National Space Center of Astana, under which a crew of women will spend 10 days in conditions as close as possible to those of a space flight.
The goal of the experiment is to study the medical, cognitive, and team aspects of crew performance in isolation. Four specialists from the Aerospace Committee are participating in the project, under the scientific supervision of Alina Gutorova, head of the AI Lab at the Kazakh-British Technical University.
The SANA-1 project is the first comprehensive study of its scale in Kazakhstan. It aims to prepare a national scientific foundation for future space missions and promote STEM fields among young people, while also highlighting the importance of women's participation in space exploration.
