A Center of Competence for the Development and Implementation of Applied AI Solutions has been established in Kazakhstan.

At the initiative of the Digital Government Support Center, within the framework of a World Bank grant project, a center of excellence for the development and implementation of application solutions based on Kazakh language large language models — KazLLM — has been established. The main goal of the center is to bridge the performance gap between resource-rich languages such as English and Chinese and the Kazakh language, thereby improving the accuracy and reliability of artificial intelligence results.

The center of excellence will unite science, business, and government to maximize the economic and social impact of using KazLLM technologies. This will help reduce production costs in the public sector and industry, as well as expand access to AI technologies by integrating Kazakhstan's cultural code into the global artificial intelligence community.
