A National Dictionary Fund of the Kazakh language will be created in Kazakhstan based on AI

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has developed a project to create a state information system called the "National Lexical Fund of the Kazakh Language."

The project aims to preserve, protect, and develop the Kazakh language, digitize it, and adapt it for artificial intelligence. The fund is planned to integrate academic and translation dictionaries, the National Corpus of the Kazakh Language, a terminological database, and specialized datasets.

Key tasks of the National Lexical Fund:

— creating a centralized dictionary database with analysis of word meanings, etymology, and usage patterns
— automating data processing and systematization
— integrating AI and modern technologies for information search and analysis
— developing the terminological database and digital language resources
— providing open access to textual materials in digital format. The functioning of the fund will be managed by a legal entity appointed by the authorized body in the field of language development. The work will be based on principles of scientific justification, accessibility, systematicity, and adherence to literary language norms.
