The first Republican Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence will be held in Kazakhstan

A landmark meeting took place at the Ministry of Digital Development, where the Minister of Digitalization, the Minister of Education, and the Head of the Federation for Competitive Programming discussed steps to advance education in the field of artificial intelligence.

The signing of a memorandum of cooperation was the key event of the meeting, marking the beginning of a new stage in the development of AI education in the country. One of the outcomes of this agreement was the decision to hold the first Republican School Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence — Al Olymp.

The Olympiad will take place in spring in two stages. School students from across the country will be able to participate in a preliminary online competition, solving problems in programming, mathematics, and classical machine learning. The 30–40 best participants will be invited to the final stage, held in person, to solve practical tasks. Participants with the best results will have the opportunity to undergo special training to determine the composition of the Kazakhstan national team for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) in Beijing, China, from August 2 to 9, 2025.
