At the AlmatyFair.ai exhibition, the Government of Kazakhstan and Singapore-based GK Hyperscale Ltd signed an agreement for the construction of two Tier 3 data centers with investments of $1.5 billion and a capacity of 200 MW. The project will create more than 360 jobs, ensure at least $1.2 billion in local content, and is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2026, with the first module coming online in 2027. An additional $1.2 billion will be invested in a power plant, wind farm, and energy storage system.
As part of the AlmatyFair.ai exhibition, a ceremony was held for the signing of an investment agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Singaporean company GK Hyperscale Ltd for the construction and operation of two hyperscale data centers. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiev, and the CEO of GK Hyperscale Ltd, Michael Dickerson.
Investments totaling $1.5 billion have been attracted for the construction of the data centers, and their combined IT capacity will be 200 MW. The data centers will meet the Tier 3 standard.
The data centers will provide a foundation for the development of cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing. During the implementation process, more than 360 highly qualified jobs will be created, and the share of Kazakhstani content will be at least $1.2 billion — this includes the purchase of goods and services from domestic companies. It is planned that the revenue from the data centers will constitute at least 50% of export contracts.

A project of such scale and quality will help attract international technology giants such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, as well as companies working with big data and artificial intelligence. The implementation of the project will strengthen the country's position as a digital hub in Central Asia and create conditions for further growth in the export of IT services.
Additional investments of $1.2 billion will be made in the acquisition and modernization of a power plant, as well as the construction of a wind farm and an electricity storage system.
The start of construction is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, and the commissioning of the first data center module is planned for 2027.
