Applications are now being accepted for participation in the Visa Everywhere Initiative in Kazakhstan.

Applications are now open in Kazakhstan for the Visa Everywhere Initiative 2023, a global open innovation competition where startups present their cutting-edge products to solve future challenges in payments and commerce. The application period runs until May 14 on the website.

In addition to cash prizes, VEI winners gain access to Visa’s extensive network of partners in the banking, retail, venture capital, and government sectors. Winners also receive recognition from one of the most trusted and valuable global brands.

The regional final for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will be broadcast live on July 27 on TechCrunch’s website — a leading online publication specializing in the technology industry and startup ecosystem. The startup that wins the regional stage will advance to the global final, which will take place on September 19 at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco.

This year, the CEMEA region will see the inaugural awarding of the Security and Risk Management category — Fintechs Innovating in Risk Excellence (FIIRE). Under this special Visa category, in partnership with Emirates NBD, the competition will seek global fintech players in areas such as fraud prevention, cybersecurity, and credit risk management. 

Following joint evaluation by Visa and Emirates NBD representatives, the winning project will receive a prize of $25,000 USD and the opportunity to collaborate with Emirates NBD, a leading regional bank.

Since its launch in 2015, VEI has enabled companies from over 100 countries to secure more than $16 billion USD in funding and has built a community of nearly 12,000 startups worldwide. 

The application deadline in Kazakhstan is May 14.
