A digital platform will be created in Kazakhstan for railway passenger transportation.

The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan is actively involved in the development and implementation of digital projects in the railway industry. Among the most priority initiatives is the project to implement the Tez Customs cargo multimodal platform as part of cooperation with the leading global port operator, the Singaporean company PSA.

In late 2023, JSC "NC "KTZ" jointly with the ministries of transport, finance, agriculture, and the Center for International Road and Air Transport (MCRIAP) conducted a pilot test of the Tez Customs system on two railway routes in the country. The pilot project demonstrated the possibility of automatic registration and release of a transit declaration during through transit to third countries.

This work continues and is under special control. Azerbaijan, Georgia, and many Chinese logistics platforms have already joined the project.

Additionally, digital tools are planned to be used to optimize processes in domestic freight transportation by implementing the KTZ Single Window of Services, which will include, among other things, forwarding and warehousing services. This platform is intended to ensure interaction between shippers, carriers, and railway freight operators on a non-discriminatory basis.

Special attention is being paid to the development and modernization of digital infrastructure. KTZ has begun cooperation with Huawei and Wabtec Corporation. Cloud solutions, artificial intelligence algorithms, rolling stock control and monitoring systems, and others are being implemented step by step.
