Construction of an innovative AI data center will begin in Karakalpakstan

A modern next-generation data center utilizing artificial intelligence technologies and renewable energy sources is planned to be built in Karakalpakstan.

The project is being implemented with the participation of China's Guorui Group and Taiwan's Supermicro under an investment agreement worth $130.9 million. IT Park Uzbekistan and its branch in Karakalpakstan are coordinating the construction.

Project investors will receive benefits, including exemption from customs duties on imported equipment and an electricity tariff of just 5 cents per kWh, for investments exceeding $100 million.

The data center will be equipped with advanced cooling and data processing technologies, including Direct Liquid Cooling 2, which will reduce energy consumption and ensure efficient AI computing operations.

The project will be a significant step in developing the region's digital infrastructure, attracting international investments, and creating new jobs, strengthening Uzbekistan's position as a technological hub in Central Asia.
