The Karaganda hub "Terricovaya Valley" has concluded its hackathon, during which participants developed prototypes of mobile applications for connecting with the police and interactive training platforms. Both experienced developers and school students participated in the competition, demonstrating a high level of preparation and unconventional ideas.
One of the brightest moments of the hackathon was the participation of school students, who successfully competed with more experienced teams. Two teams of young talents won cash prizes by presenting innovative projects.
Students from the State Institution School-Lyceum named after Shokan Ualikhanov, Artem Kuznetsov and David Doroshenko, developed a mobile application for emergency contact with the police. Their solution includes features for contacting emergency services, synchronization with smartwatches, and sending information to trusted contacts. Their project received an award of 100,000 tenge.
Another school team from the specialized school-lyceum-internate of information technology also received 100,000 tenge and the audience choice award. Shayzada Takudin, Erasyl Tokken, Abdulla Sagintay, Yernur Kalel, and Akhmetzhan Adilkhan presented a platform where users can interact with the police anonymously, receive up-to-date news, and chat with law enforcement agencies.
The main prize in the category of mobile applications for the police was won by team No. 23, consisting of Erasyl Bazarbaev, Alinur Tolbaev, Aizhas Serikov, and Alimzhan Zhorabek. Their project, Qalqan, is a digital ecosystem with a crime map, a missing persons search system, a chat with the police, and an Amber Alert mechanism. The developers received 300,000 tenge.
Additionally, team No. 10, Maxim Yakovlev, Kirill Bushmanov, and Alibek Tauirbaev, was awarded for creating a mobile application with authorization, an SOS button, a news feed, and a request system. Their award amounted to 100,000 tenge.
In the category of interactive training platforms, the first place and 300,000 tenge were awarded to Ansar Esymukhanov and Adilet Samurat from team No. 52, who developed a 3D game for training law enforcement officers. The second place and 200,000 tenge went to team No. 50, Talim Aushakman, Erasyl Satymbekov, Sanzhar Kamenov, Arsen Ismailov, and Zangar Manarbek, for their VR simulator with artificial intelligence integration.
The "Terricovaya Valley" hackathon not only identified the strongest teams but also became a platform for new ideas and promising developments. The winners received not only cash prizes but also the opportunity to refine their projects with the support of mentors and experts. The competition confirmed the high level of Kazakhstani developers, and the participation of school students showed that the new generation of IT specialists is ready for serious challenges.
