Kanys Tuleushin, First Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan
We are actively working on creating a robust artificial intelligence ecosystem in our country. One of our key initiatives is the establishment of the international artificial intelligence center alem.ai, which will support research, help startups grow, and bring together experts from different countries. Our main goal is to provide AI education and upskilling to 200,000 citizens annually, including students, professionals, and government officials. We want everyone to have the opportunity to assess the effectiveness of artificial intelligence and benefit from it.
Kazakhstan and France see significant opportunities for joint development in this area — initiatives aimed at deepening cooperation were voiced from both sides.
Sylvain Gioghe, Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan
France currently holds a leading position in Europe in the field of artificial intelligence — thanks to state support, startup dynamics, and the development of research centers. The Paris Summit served as a platform for developing a global approach to the ethical and sustainable development of AI, and we are pleased that Kazakhstan not only participated in it but also confirmed its readiness to play an active role in this process. Ahead lie new steps to expand Franco-Kazakhstani cooperation in this strategic sector.
Also participating in the discussion were Tanat Uskenbayev, Managing Director of Astana Hub; Jerome Boyer, Director of Alstom for Central Asia; and Ivan Kononov, Director of the startup HubLab.ai.
Speakers emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and expressed readiness to develop projects that promote knowledge exchange, scientific research, and the development of AI infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to the role of technology hubs, such as Astana Hub, as platforms for implementing joint initiatives.
