The final of the international educational project Beginit: Leadership for Social Justice took place in Almaty, aimed at developing social leadership among high school students from regions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The initiative is implemented by the global platform inDrive in partnership with Astana Hub and the iQanat educational foundation. This year, the winners were six high school students from four regions of Kazakhstan, as well as two schoolchildren from Kyrgyzstan.
This season of the project ran from September 2024 to June 2025. A total of 2222 applications were submitted, of which 2007 came from schoolchildren from 10 regions of Kazakhstan, and 215 from the Chuy Region of Kyrgyzstan, where the project was launched for the first time.
In the first stage, the Beginit team conducted workshops on social leadership in 12 regions. As a result of these meetings, 680 schoolchildren gained access to the online course Leadership for Social Justice, which includes the development of critical thinking, public speaking, teamwork, and project management skills. The course was successfully completed by 242 participants, 70 of whom were invited to a five-day semi-final at a mountain resort in Almaty. There, they underwent intensive offline training to develop leadership qualities. As a result, the jury selected 57 participants who advanced to the final.
In 2024, project participants already improved travel conditions for nearly 60,000 people in six regions of Kazakhstan. For example, the program participant Balausy Satymbek's project to create a safe bus stop was successfully implemented in late 2024 in the village of Zhasorken in the Zhambyl Region.
