Kolesa JunDay’25 took place in Almaty

On April 13, the Kolesa JunDay’25 conference took place in Almaty — the largest IT event in Central Asia for students and entry-level professionals. In 2025, the event brought together over 1,000 participants and 40 experts from the most relevant fields: backend, QA, product management, UX research, and IT recruitment.

The goal of the conference was to help aspiring professionals understand how the market works and which skills are truly in demand. Throughout the day, attendees listened to presentations from practicing engineers and product managers, participated in workshops analyzing real-world cases, and watched live coding sessions.

The Jun Contest — an olympiad for beginner developers organized in collaboration with the Federation of Sports Programming — drew particular interest. Participants tested their skills by solving algorithmic problems.

A new format introduced at JunDay was speed dating sessions: students had the opportunity to ask personal questions to HR specialists, engineers, and product managers from Kolesa Group. Within just a few minutes, participants received valuable advice on how to start their careers, choose a specialization, and identify which skills are important to employers.

Participants of Kolesa JunDay’25 took away not only knowledge and contacts but also the confidence that finding their place in the industry is achievable.
