The ABC Weekend took place in Almaty.

On February 24–25, ABC Weekend took place in Almaty—a two-day event focused on generating and refining startup ideas, organized by NURIS, the Innovation Cluster of Nazarbayev University, and the Kazakh-American University, with support from Sergek Group.

The event was attended by 126 aspiring startup founders—entrepreneurs, professionals, and students—who spent two days generating startup ideas, attending workshops on startup fundamentals, consulting with experienced startup founders and experts in sales, marketing, legal matters, and other fields, learning how to prepare presentations, and pitching to a jury.

At the end of the two days, 14 startup projects presented to the jury, and as a result, four projects were selected to advance for free to the second stage of the ABC Incubation X TCA 8.0 startup support program.

ABC Incubation X TCA is a business incubation program for entrepreneurs, professionals, and university students, aimed at helping aspiring startup founders progress from idea to first sales.

The projects that advanced to the second stage of the ABC Incubation program:
Baga — electronic shelf labels for retail stores
Hemo-AI — an AI system that identifies diseases and provides recommendations for blood analysis
Tecto — a mobile app for earthquake alerts
OrtaTap — a platform helping startups and talent find each other.

This May, graduates of ABC Incubation X TCA 8.0 will present their projects to potential partners and investors at the Demo Day.
