The main cyber conference of the region, KazHackStan 2025, will take place in Almaty.

KazHackStan — the seventh largest cybersecurity conference in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Over three days, the platform will cover all key aspects of digital security: Government & Business Day will focus on policy and regulation, Secure Development Day on secure development practices, and HackDay on live vulnerability demonstrations, attack techniques, and team-based defense exercises. Over 6,000 participants and more than 65 leading speakers from the region and around the world are expected. This year’s theme is Zero Day.

Zero Day is not just a technical term. It is a real threat because such vulnerabilities allow attackers to silently infiltrate the most sensitive systems — energy, transport, communications — long before anyone realizes something is wrong. An attack can happen suddenly, paralyze operations, disrupt control, and leave destruction in its wake. The most frightening aspect is that it is impossible to defend against it in advance, because no one yet knows exactly where the weak link lies.

You can expect three thematic days:

The first day — GOVERNMENT & BUSINESS DAY

Topics to be discussed:
— zero tolerance for incompetence in cybersecurity — especially among government bodies
— data breaches, lack of budget, and disregard for security requirements
— unauthorized penetration testing of critical information infrastructure
— the financial sector’s indifference to protecting citizens’ data
— silence around vulnerabilities and data leaks — even if “nothing serious happened.”

The second day — SECURE DEVELOPMENT DAY

Topics to be discussed:
— blurred boundaries: the secure perimeter model no longer reflects reality
— how the threat landscape is changing: AI, cloud computing
— how to rethink security approaches in a changing cybersecurity environment.

The third day — HACK DAY
— top-tier presentations by global and regional speakers. The finale of CyberKumbez — the region’s largest hacking competition
— Red Team vs. Blue Team. Live hacks, bugs, real-time demonstrations.

The conference is organized by TSARKA Group, a regional leader in cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, together with KIB MCRIAP.
