The Almaty Metro has launched the Face Pay service. Terminals have been installed at the “Abay” and “B. Momyshuly” stations, allowing passengers to pay for their fare using artificial intelligence. The new system provides fast and secure contactless payment.
A green “Face Pay” sticker is placed in front of the turnstile. Passengers need to stand in front of it and look into the camera mounted on the turnstile. The gates will open, and the fare of 100 tenge will be deducted from the bank card.
The pilot project was launched in collaboration with Halyk Bank. The system will be connected at other stations in stages. Users can subscribe to the service through the bank’s mobile application.
