Uzum, the largest digital ecosystem in Uzbekistan, has raised $25 million from the American fund VR Capital — one of the leading global investors in emerging markets.
This is already the second deal between the companies in 2025, underscoring the fund's confidence in the rapidly growing digital economy of Uzbekistan.
The received funding will accelerate the development of Uzum's FinTech segment, including digital banking, payment infrastructure, and consumer lending. The deal also reflects the strengthening of economic ties between Uzbekistan and the United States amid growing cross-border investments.
Uzum continues to develop the country's largest digital platform, combining online trade, digital and traditional banking, as well as FinTech services into a single ecosystem already used by more than 20 million Uzbeks.
