In Uzbekistan, new measures aimed at developing the digital industry and attracting foreign specialists to the IT sector have officially come into effect. According to the decree that took effect on November 21, simplified entry and work conditions are now available for international experts, researchers, startup teams, and top managers of technology companies.
One of the key elements of the initiative is the IT visa, which provides foreign IT specialists with multiple-entry access and the right to freely stay in the country for work or participation in digital projects. Such a visa can be obtained by holders of PhD or DSc degrees, founders of international startups, as well as leaders and their deputies of companies that are residents of IT Park Uzbekistan.
In addition to visa support, the government is launching new educational and financial mechanisms designed to ensure qualified training of personnel. Specifically, preferential loans are provided for young specialists wishing to undergo training in international educational centers. This opportunity also extends to foreign language teachers and IT companies planning to upgrade their employees' qualifications abroad.
Support will also extend to IT companies engaged in exports. Organizations that have increased the volume of exported IT services by at least 30% over two years will be able to rely on development financial instruments, including accessible loans. It is expected that such measures will help accelerate the growth of export potential and strengthen the international presence of the Uzbek IT sector.
The launched initiatives are aimed at forming a competitive digital ecosystem, improving the level of personnel training, and integrating Uzbekistan into the global technology market. According to industry experts, the program will serve as a stimulus for attracting foreign specialists, accelerating knowledge transfer, and forming a sustainable innovative environment in the country.
