President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on plans in the fields of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications on July 1.
Thanks to the broad opportunities created for the development of digital technologies in our country, significant results have been achieved. The number of IT Park Uzbekistan residents has exceeded 2,800, with the number of foreign companies reaching 752. Approximately 40,000 young people earn high incomes in this sector.
Over the past five years, industry exports have grown from $170 million to nearly $1 billion. Internet speed has increased sevenfold, and mobile internet speed has increased four and a half times. In 2024, startups attracted $70 million in venture capital investments.
As a result, Uzbekistan rose by 12 positions and entered the top 100 of the global startup ecosystem ranking. The country also climbed 17 positions in the international AI Readiness Index, taking first place in Central Asia. Uzbekistan led the CIS countries in the growth rate of the telecommunications sector.
Work in this direction continues consistently. In particular, the following goals are set for 2026: digitalization of 70% of public services, increasing the volume of IT services to 100 trillion sum. It is also planned to reach at least the 55th position in the Electronic Government Development Index. To achieve these indicators, drafts of several documents have been developed.
During the presentation, these projects and proposals were discussed.
