Germany and Uzbekistan are expanding cooperation in the field of information technology. A meeting took place in Tashkent between representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan and IT Park Uzbekistan and a delegation from Germany and Europe, which included 32 participants representing approximately 20 companies and organizations. The delegation was led by the Managing Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.
During the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with the infrastructure of IT Park and the conditions for technology businesses, and also visited the offices of residents, including Uzinfocom, EPAM Systems, and Realsoft. The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of ICT, launching joint projects, developing export initiatives, and establishing research and R&D centers.
Cooperation with Germany shows steady growth. In 2024, the number of German residents in IT Park reached 10 companies, seven of which operate in export. Additionally, 27 Uzbek IT companies already provide services to the German market — this is 69% more than the previous year. The industry's exports to Germany in 2024 amounted to $3.85 million.
The parties expressed interest in deepening their partnership and agreed on further steps. In particular, the opening of an IT Park Uzbekistan office in Berlin based on the Eastern Committee of the German Economy is planned, which should simplify communication and accelerate the launch of joint initiatives.
According to IT Park, strengthening interaction with the German business community and European companies will be an important step towards increasing the export potential of Uzbekistan's IT sector, attracting international investments, and developing the local IT ecosystem.
