The Teach for Qazaqstan Foundation has opened an additional application period until April 15. Candidates will be employed in regional schools for two years with support and a stipend of 300,000 tenge, excluding current teachers. The program launched in January 2023, sending 30 educators to the Karaganda region from among 3,000 participants.
Following the successful completion of the second cohort of the program, Teach for Qazaqstan continues to accept applications for participation. Applications for the additional intake are now open and will remain open until April 15.
The mission of the public organization, implemented in more than 60 countries worldwide, involves attracting specialists from various fields and retraining them as teachers. Project participants are officially employed in regional schools in Kazakhstan with full financial, coaching, and methodological support for two years. Through this initiative, the Teach for Qazaqstan public foundation aims to reduce educational inequality and unlock the potential of children who lack access to quality education. Candidates for teaching positions can come from diverse professional backgrounds, including graduates of non-pedagogical and pedagogical university programs. Current teachers or those with prior school teaching experience are not eligible to participate. A distinctive feature of the program is the pedagogical retraining of individuals who have never worked in a school setting; however, people with experience as tutors in educational centers, as well as college and university instructors, are eligible to apply.
Program participants will receive a number of benefits, including:
— methodological and educational support in online and offline formats provided by Teach for Qazaqstan
— a monthly scholarship of 300,000 tenge in addition to their salary
— the opportunity to engage in public activities and launch cultural and educational projects in the region with support from Teach for Qazaqstan
— upon completion of the two-year contract, program graduates will automatically become members of the global educational network.
The Teach for Qazaqstan program, which began in January 2023, has already selected and deployed 30 teachers to the Karaganda region from among 3,000 selected and trained participants. This new additional intake offers a unique opportunity for anyone interested to join this important mission.
