The Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, held a video conference with the CEO of the UAE’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), His Excellency Shahab Issa Abu Shahab. The event was attended by the leadership of the Council on Artificial Intelligence under the Ministry of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of ATRC’s divisions, including the Institute of Technological Innovation and the VentureOne holding company from Abu Dhabi.
Key areas of cooperation were discussed during the negotiations:
— Joint research on language models aimed at enhancing the multimodal capabilities of the Falcon language model. Special attention will be given to processing regional dialects, including rare ones, using Tajik algorithms for synthetic data generation via zGAN
— Development of a Tajik version of the Falcon model. Technologies of the Falcon model, developed in the UAE, will be used to create an adapted version that accounts for the linguistic and cultural features of the Tajik language. This will enable the implementation of digital services in Tajik, including voice assistants, automatic translation, and educational platforms
— Development of the Area AI technopolis in Dushanbe. ATRC will support the launch of CNTXT and VentureOne products in Central Asia, based in Area AI. This will provide Tajik enterprises with access to modern technologies in AI, big data, and cloud solutions, while also attracting foreign investment.
The parties expressed confidence that this partnership will serve as a driver of digital transformation in Tajikistan and strengthen its position as an AI technology hub in Central Asia. It was noted that the next step involves establishing a working group for detailed project planning. Cooperation with ATRC has become an important stage in implementing the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Tajikistan, providing access to cutting-edge innovations and forming a sustainable technological foundation for the country’s development.
