Kazakhstan has expressed its readiness to participate in the creation of a Turkic large language model—a project that will unite the scientific and technological potential of Turkic world countries in the field of artificial intelligence.
This was announced by Vice Premier — Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiev during a meeting with the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev in Astana. According to him, the creation of its own language model will help strengthen digital sovereignty and develop AI adapted to Turkic languages and culture.
Models KazLLM and AlemLLM, trained on the Kazakh language, have already been developed in Kazakhstan. Their development is supported by the National Supercomputing Center Alem.Cloud, launched in July 2025.
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan also agreed to expand cooperation in the field of digital technologies — from the exchange of startups to joint AI projects and the development of an underwater fiber-optic communication line between the two countries.
