At the largest startup festival, TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 in San Francisco, logistics startup Glīd emerged as the main winner of the Startup Battlefield competition. The team received the grand prize of $100,000 and recognition among 200 participants from around the world.
The startup developed an innovative system for automating and optimizing the transportation of cargo containers. Their technology simplifies the movement of containers between ports, rail terminals, and trucks, reducing time and costs in logistics.
Glīd uses hybrid-electric and autonomous transport solutions, making the first stage of freight transportation—the first mile—more environmentally friendly and efficient.
Problems in global logistics—such as congested ports, delays, and inefficient transshipments—require new solutions. Glīd's victory shows that the interest of the venture capital market is shifting not only toward AI and software but also toward the "real sector"—infrastructure and transportation.
Glīd was founded in 2022 by Kevin Damoah, a specialist in logistics and the aerospace industry. The company has already raised approximately $5 million in investments from Outlander VC, Draper Associates, Antler, and The Veteran Fund, and has signed eight preliminary contracts, one of which is valued at $70 million. The first commercial deliveries are expected by the end of 2025.
The finalists of the Startup Battlefield competition represented various fields—from biotechnology to AI solutions. Glīd's victory symbolizes the growing interest of the tech community in innovations in global logistics and sustainable transportation.
