The winners of the Makerspace STEM Accelerator program have been announced.

At the open DEMO DAY on September 28, graduates of the STEM Accelerator program for school students from Makerspace Almaty presented their projects: out of 15 teams, the top 7 showcased their ideas before the jury.

The winners were:

1st place — AIGnite Diagnostics — pneumonia diagnosis using computer vision. Founder Mereyli has already developed a working model and agreed with clinics to conduct initial tests in November this year.

2nd place — Rating.kz — a platform for finding educational institutions and courses in Almaty. The platform is currently under development, and the authors have agreed on cooperation with several institutions.

3rd place — Health Shell App — a fitness and health app for teenagers featuring educational content and a marketplace for fitness trainers and nutritionists.

The jury included:

— Bakht Niyazov, business angel, investor, and entrepreneur

— Oleg Kachalin, co-founder of Rocket Firm

— Ulan Karazhigitov, Head of Product at InDrive

— Rustem Ermekov, lecturer at High Tech Academy.
