Nurali Amangeldyev, a 9th-grade student from the Abay region, presented a device for transmitting energy via laser. The system transmitted energy over distances of up to 10 meters, operating under various weather conditions and most effectively in a vacuum. In 2019, the project received high praise at the MIPT competition, after which the student improved the device by installing a more powerful laser.
Nurali Amangeldyev, a 9th-grade student from the Abai region, presented a unique device for transmitting energy using laser radiation in outer space. The project aims to solve the problem of powering satellites and space stations in orbit, where the vacuum and absence of atmospheric interference allow the laser to transmit energy most efficiently.
The device consists of two models symbolizing spacecraft. One is equipped with a laser beam focusing system directed at the second spacecraft, which has a photoresistor sensitive exclusively to laser radiation. The laser beam hits the photoresistor, which generates electricity through a converter, sufficient to power a light bulb and even charge a mobile phone. The device successfully transmitted energy over distances up to 10 meters and underwent testing under various conditions, including rain, snow, and fog. The best results were recorded in a dark room and a vacuum chamber, where there were no light interferences.
In 2019, he presented his project at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology competition, where it received high praise, and then improved the device by installing a more powerful laser and updating the software.
