Student teams from Uzbekistan achieved high results at the semi-final of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) — Northern Eurasian Regional Contest (NERC). The competition brought together approximately 341 teams from leading universities across Northern Eurasia, making the contest particularly intense.
This year, 20 teams from Uzbekistan participated in the semi-final, supported by IT Park Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Digital Technologies, and university coaches.
The best result among Uzbek teams was achieved by the team from Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Tashkent University of Information Technologies: the team solved seven problems and received a first-degree diploma. The participants were Azizbek Marufjonov, Davlatbek Mirokilov, and Shohrux Rahmatillaev.
Several other teams from the country received second-degree diplomas, including:
— Awesome Team, MSU Tashkent Branch
— Three Dinosaurs and Asteroids, New University of Uzbekistan
— Unexpected Ones, Tashkent University of Humanities
— Tomorrow’s Problem, Tashkent University of Information Technologies.
A third-degree diploma was awarded, for example, to the Starborn team from Bukhara State University.
Notably, one of the Uzbek teams took third place among all Central Asian teams, outperforming strong competitors from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
The students' performance strengthens Uzbekistan's position in IT education and confirms the high potential of the country's young programmers on the international stage.
