The next tournament plans to include teams from the United States, China, Turkey, and other nations.
The international Robotek Grand Tournament concluded in Astana, once again confirming the mission of Kazakhstan’s national IT brand.
Robotek Grand Tournament has grown from championship to championship, transforming over three years into a landmark event in domestic robotics. The first RGT, in 2022, brought together schoolchildren from the capital. The next time, the best teams from across the country met on the Robotek fields. This year, the championship reached an international level for the first time, with successful teams of young roboticists arriving in Astana from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
From the very first Robotek Grand Tournament, as a unique platform for global standards, it has been created in collaboration with the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn” and the Astana Center “Astana Daryny.”
In 2024, the winners of regional Robotek Grand Tournament tournaments from all regions of the country took part in the main competition. More than 250 schoolchildren in several age groups competed in seven categories: Robotek, “Mergen,” “Inverse Line Race,” “Flag Delivery,” “Robot – Deliverer,” and “Robot – Sorter.”

On the fields of Robotek Grand Tournament under the Kazakh shanyrak, the best roboticists from Turkic-speaking countries came together. As part of the global TurkTime! initiative, Memorandums of Cooperation were signed between the domestic company “Robotek” and successful teams from the Presidential Lyceum “Akylman” in Cholpon-Ata, the international network “Sapat” in Bishkek, the Seytek STEM educational complex in Tokmok, Uzbek educational centers SteamLand and Roboschool from Tashkent and Chirchik, as well as Tajikistan’s “Robot League.” The Astana memorandums continue the large-scale partnership between Kazakh schoolchildren and global leaders in sports robotics. In November 2023, at the World Robot Olympiad in Panama, Robotek already secured strategic partnerships with the well-known US-based STEM educational services center Chasewood Learning, No. 19 Xintai Middle School from Hebei, China, and the Azerbaijani engineering academy of robotics AREA.
The global uniqueness of Robotek Grand Tournament lies in the fact that the transfer of Kazakh intellectual technologies into world robotics continues at the Astana championship.
For the first time at the championship, the company mascot Robotek Tecko was presented, which gained thousands of views on social media in the country and around the world within just the first hour. The unique lucky mascot was created by Dilmira Nurgalieva, a schoolgirl from Uralsk, who won the republican competition for the most creative sketch.
The main Cup, “El Kubogy,” was taken to Uralsk by the team from the West Kazakhstan Region.

This year, three special nominations were introduced for the first time: “Best Engineering Solution,” awarded to Ibragim Iskenderov and Nurislam Yerdeshov from the city of Kentau in the Turkistan Region; the Cup “Best Rural Team” was awarded to Bekzhan Mukhtarbek and Roman Pronyakov from the Aksu District of the Zhetisu Region; and Artem Appazov and Jahongir Mamajonov took the title “Best Foreign Team” to Chirchik in Uzbekistan.
A scholarship for studies at the School of Information Technologies and Engineering, the flagship university of the country — the Kazakhstan-British Technical University — was awarded to Miras Sliamgazy from the Urdzharsky District of the Abai Region.
The development of school robotics in the country and the holding of Robotek Grand Tournament were supported by the automotive company Allur, which served as the platinum sponsor of RGT, and the family-sports center Sana Sport, the gold sponsor.
The creation of a new national IT brand of Kazakhstan, Robotek Grand Tournament, demonstrates interest in the prestigious championship from more than 20 countries, which are ready to come to Astana next year.
Next year, young roboticists from the United States, China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and other countries plan to meet on the fields of Robotek Grand Tournament in Astana.
