On July 23, 2024, the Goethe-Institut in Tashkent hosted the opening of the GameDevGoethe Game Development Incubator, bringing together over 200 participants, including developers, artists, students, and video game enthusiasts. For five years now, this event has become the flagship occasion for the gaming industry, providing a platform that motivates young people to create video games.
GameDevGoethe is a unique event that offers participants the opportunity to bring their creative ideas to life in a game format over several months. The game development incubator aims to support and inspire everyone who wishes to create their own game within the framework of the competition.
Participants received a task to develop their own game. This year's theme is Generative AI, which stimulates a creative approach and helps unlock the potential of each participant. The general partner of the fifth season of the incubator was the international company NVIDIA.

The event was opened by Walter Zabiel, Head of Administration at the Goethe-Institut, followed by an online broadcast from Munich featuring Oleg Shkoda, Product Manager at NVIDIA. Also speaking at the event were representatives of East Games, the largest game development studio in Uzbekistan: Anatoly Tsoy, General Manager, and Alexander Shinkarev, Head of Development. Employees from East Games will mentor participants throughout the project. As part of the opening, a panel discussion took place where participants from previous seasons of the project discussed current trends and challenges facing the industry. Participants actively asked questions, contributing to a lively and productive atmosphere. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including innovative technologies, game design, and game marketing.
To create an even more engaging atmosphere, two quizzes were organized, open to all attendees. As a result of the quizzes, six winners received prizes from the event's technical partners, G-Shop and Nout.uz.
