The first KazLLM model will undergo testing in the third quarter of 2024

During the government meeting, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektengov instructed to intensify efforts to improve regulatory frameworks in the field of artificial intelligence. He emphasized the need to simplify procedures for leasing information and communication infrastructure facilities and to accelerate the development of the Kazakhstani language model KazLLM, with data collection for which should be completed by the end of the year.

To scale up the training of AI specialists, an ecosystem aimed at engaging youth and developing human capital will be established. The Ministries of Digital Development, Science, and Education have been tasked with annually increasing the number of trained specialists and creating regional centers of competence. The adopted concept for the development of artificial intelligence for 2024-2029 assumes a fivefold increase in the number of AI products by 2029.
