OpenAI is developing its own social network

OpenAI has begun work on its own social network, reminiscent of the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.

The project is still in its early stages, but an internal prototype already exists, featuring image generation within ChatGPT and a built-in special feed. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is discussing the idea with external experts and gathering feedback. It remains unclear whether the social network will be released as a standalone app or integrated into ChatGPT, which recently became the most downloaded app in the world.

If the project is realized, it would intensify OpenAI's competition with Elon Musk and Meta. Sam Altman plans to add a social feed to his own app with an AI assistant.
