New iPhones will be released twice a year according to Apple's new schedule.

Apple is preparing to abandon its traditional annual iPhone release cycle.
According to the new plan, premium models — the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the anticipated foldable iPhone — will be released in the fall of 2026. Base models — the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and the second generation of the iPhone Air — will only appear in the first half of 2027. Until then, Apple will release an interim model, the iPhone 17e, in early 2026.
This approach will allow Apple to better compete with Samsung and Google: budget-friendly models will be available earlier, while flagship devices will launch in the fall. Additionally, the company will be able to distribute production and supply chain workloads more evenly.
