Murat Abdrakhmanov, one of the most prominent venture investors and serial entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan, announced the creation of MA7 Venture — a comprehensive structure that includes the MA7 Self-funded Rolling Fund venture fund, the MA7 Angels Club business angel club, and the MA7 Community networking development community.
The goal of MA7 Venture is to systematize and expand venture activities. Over the past five years, Abdrakhmanov's portfolio has grown from 5 to more than 40 active startups, creating a need for a structured system to manage and scale investments.
The MA7 Self-funded Rolling Fund will serve as the foundation for investment activities, where Abdrakhmanov will use exclusively his own funds without attracting external investors. The fund's volume is planned to reach up to $4 million per year.
The MA7 Angels Club will also play a key role in MA7 Venture, providing other investors with the opportunity to jointly participate in promising projects alongside Abdrakhmanov in a syndicate format. Over the past year, the club has already invested in several startups, including Pioneers, Zeely, Zibra.AI, and Hero’s Journey.
One of the club's successful deals was the startup Hero’s Journey, founded by Kazakh entrepreneur Ilyas Isataev, known for creating the Invictus fitness club chain. Hero’s Journey is a gamified fitness studio that helps people develop the habit of exercising faster through game mechanics. Recently, the project completed a funding round with a valuation of $30 million and raised $7 million, with MA7 Angels Club among the participants in this round.
MA7 Community will become a platform for strengthening connections within the IT industry. As part of this initiative, events such as Tech Venture Regatta and Venture Apres Ski will be held, where founders, investors, and experts can exchange experience and establish collaborations.
The initiative has already attracted more than 80 investors to MA7 Angels Club, with plans to expand to 300 participants next year.
