A new 17-story branch of the Software Products and Information Technology Park has opened in Nukus.
As part of the "Uzbekistan — 2030" strategy, it is planned to increase the volume of IT services exports to five billion dollars and create 300,000 jobs for young people. One of the key directions of this strategy is the creation of IT towns in remote areas of the country. For example, the number of IT Park residents in Karakalpakstan has tripled over the past year, reaching 108 people, who provide employment for 310 specialists. In the first half of 2024, the volume of services provided by the park increased by 2.4 times, and the volume of exports increased by 1.7 times.
IT Park residents are actively engaged in training young people and government officials: in 2023, 18,000 people underwent training through an online platform as part of the "One Million Programmers" project, and in 2024, this figure reached 29,000. The plan for this year is to train more than 33,000 people.
The 17-story complex, located in the city center, has become home to educational and coworking centers, offices, conference halls, as well as residents and investors. Previously, the two-story IT Park now operates in a new modern building, which symbolizes ambitious plans for the development of this sector.
