Meta has added a live translation feature for users of Ray-Ban smart glasses

Meta has expanded the functionality of Ray-Ban smart glasses, making the live translation feature available to all users, and introduced new lens and frame color combinations.

Ray-Ban Meta glasses owners can now translate conversations in real time from English, French, Italian, and Spanish into their native language. The feature works even without a Wi-Fi or mobile network connection, as long as the language pack is downloaded in advance.

The new color option for Ray-Ban Skyler frames includes a glossy chalky gray shade with sapphire-colored photochromic lenses. A combination of glossy black frames with clear or green lenses is also available.

Additionally, Meta is preparing for a broader rollout of the Live AI feature, which allows the Meta AI virtual assistant to "see" what is happening around the user and engage in more natural conversations. Also on the horizon is the ability to send messages, photos, and make audio and video calls via Instagram directly from the glasses, similar to the already functioning integration with WhatsApp and Messenger. Music playback features via Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Shazam are now expanding beyond the US and Canada, although voice control of music content through Meta AI is still only available when using English as the default language.
