The global partnership between Sei Network and Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi provides for the pre-installation of the Sei Wallet cryptocurrency wallet on new devices from the brand starting in 2026. This innovation will affect all models sold outside mainland China and the US, potentially reaching tens of millions of users worldwide.
Sei Wallet is a mobile application developed by Sei Labs, which serves as a digital wallet and gateway to the Web3 ecosystem. The application will allow users to:
— make P2P transfers
— access decentralized applications
— explore Web3 opportunities without the need to download additional applications.
Pre-installing Sei Wallet on Xiaomi smartphones is a significant step toward simplifying access to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies for a broad audience. As part of the agreement, the companies also plan to introduce stablecoin payments in the company's retail stores, starting with regions such as Hong Kong and the European Union. This will allow customers to pay for electronics and other goods using digital assets, with transactions processed on the Sei blockchain.
As part of the partnership, plans are also being discussed to support mobile app developers through a fund aimed at creating new Web3 services and accelerating the adoption of blockchain technologies in everyday life.
