The Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development will be established in Kazakhstan

The Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development will be established under the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry. The corresponding decree was adopted by the government.

The new body will be tasked with forming and implementing state policy in the field of artificial intelligence. The Committee will also be responsible for developing and implementing regulatory legal frameworks for the development of AI technologies.

Additionally, it will carry out intersectoral coordination in the field of artificial intelligence; approve the composition and regulations governing the activities of the expert council on AI; and coordinate documents of the State Planning System related to AI development.

At the same time, the same decree provides for the liquidation of the Republican State Institution "Committee of Geodesy and Cartography of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan."
