Startup Aman has secured its first investment round of $300,000 to scale its security service in Kazakhstan and expand into international markets, including Turkey and Azerbaijan. The app offers personalized features for adults and children: an SOS button with geolocation, audio recording of threats, and parental controls. The team, led by Aruzhan Mede, is working on direct integration with emergency services to eliminate delays in transmitting distress signals.
Aman, a startup that developed a personalized security platform for adults and children, announced the first investment round of $300,000. The funds will be used to scale the service in Kazakhstan and prepare for entry into international markets.
The project's first investors were private entrepreneurs who supported Aman not only financially but also in terms of values, seeing social significance and long-term potential in the project.
The Aman app allows for quick response to threats — from domestic violence and attacks to other critical situations. The user selects one of two roles — adult or child — each offering its own functionality.
Adults can activate the SOS button, with geolocation automatically sent to a close contact. Additionally, audio recording of the surrounding environment is made for five minutes — the file is saved in the profile for 30 days. If the call was accidental, it can be canceled in the confirmation window.
For children, the SOS signal is sent only to parents. Parental control features are also available: tracking movements, setting up safe zones, and monitoring messenger chats for threats.
In the early stages, Aman operated on a model of calling private security agencies. However, as they prepared for scaling, it became clear that private services did not provide the necessary coverage and response speed, especially in small towns.
Currently, the Aman team is working on technical integration with emergency services to transmit help signals directly — without intermediaries or delays. This feature will be launched soon.
The idea for the Aman project came to Aruzhan Mede from personal experience and observation of alarming statistics: missing children, women who failed to receive timely help.
The team consciously launched using their own funds to first test the product and ensure its demand.
Aruzhan Mede, co-founder of the Aman project
We went from zero: we checked demand, gathered feedback, and saw initial results. Only then, with a confirmed hypothesis, did we open the round and attract $300,000. This was not just financial support — it was confirmation that we are creating something truly needed.
At present, Aman operates across all of Kazakhstan. The app is available in the App Store and Google Play in Kazakh and Russian. Users can subscribe individually or as a family plan for up to five people, with a free five-day trial period. In the near future, plans include completing integration with emergency services and international expansion. The first markets targeted for entry are Turkey and Azerbaijan.
The main goal of the project is to create a security system accessible to people anywhere in the world, ensuring high quality and promptness of services provided.
