Kazakhstani developers can test a new AI assistant for working with code from Yandex

Yandex has developed its own AI-powered coding assistant, Yandex Code Assistant. It generates code completions based on existing code snippets, simplifying the process of writing and editing code. This helps accelerate product development within companies.

The assistant has already been tested by thousands of Yandex developers, 60% of whom have become regular users of the service. Yandex Code Assistant is available for free in a trial mode by application for a limited number of external developers on the Yandex Cloud platform.

In 95% of cases, code completion in Yandex Code Assistant is generated within 400 milliseconds, allowing developers to write code at a comfortable pace while using the service. The service is compatible with popular code editors and supports more than 30 programming languages, including C++, Go, Java, Kotlin, Python, and others. Additionally, Yandex Code Assistant does not strain the resources of local machines.

To evaluate the quality and improve the service, Yandex IT specialists developed a special metric called "user happiness." It takes into account the length of code suggestions accepted by developers, the number of accepted and rejected code suggestions, and more. Thanks to working with this new metric, specialists were able to significantly increase the number of developers who regularly use the service.
